Hi friends, I’m so glad you dropped by! I’m Karis, and “Good Day Gracie” is my little space on the Internet to express my creative side and chronicle my love for all of the lovely things in life – both substantive and frivolous. A southern girl through and through, I currently live in Nashville, Tennessee with my husband, two little boys, and pup. I’m currently a stay-at-home mama and feel so incredibly blessed to spend my days at home with my little one. Before having Bodie, I worked full-time as speech therapist in a pre-school, so my days were typically full of craziness, fun, and unpredictability (much like they still are). It’s not uncommon to find me sipping a good cup of coffee, trying on a new lipstick, or snacking on a yummy dessert. Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and through His grace only, I’m a forgiven sinner.
Starting a blog has been something I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. After lots of prayer and encouragement from friends and loved ones, I decided to dive in and make it a reality. I’ve always had a deep love for fashion, so expect to see a lot of that here, but I also believe that fashion/lifestyle blogs can be so much more and highlight the true ups and downs of real life as well.
I want this blog to be a place of creativity, leisure, fashion, beauty, faith, whimsicality, and just, well… life. Most of all, I want this to be a place of good – a place of love and community that allows us to share in some of the loveliest (and occasionally ugliest) things in life. There are so many things in life worth of documenting, and I plan to use this blog to share some of those moments in my own life.
So, I hope you’ll browse around, engage, and enjoy yourself here. Thanks so much for being a part of this journey… I’m excited for all the fun things to come! xoxo.
PS- If “Good Day Gracie” sounds a little random or doesn’t make sense, here’s some background: My name, Karis, is the Greek word for Grace. When I was little, my mom would always say “Goodnight Gracie” (pretty sure it stemmed from an old musical, right?) at night before I went to bed. In the morning when I got up, she would then say, “Good Morning Gracie” (not from an old musical). So I began and ended each day with a “Goodnight” or “Good Morning Gracie.” My hope is that this blog can be a place where we can begin or end our day with something good… whether that’s a cute outfit, a recipe, or a significant life event!
