In the past, I did a post on some of my Favorite Nashville Brunch Spots (which honestly probably needs to be updated a bit at this point). Today, I’m sharing some of what I consider to be the best Nashville Coffee Shops. While this list includes some good ones, it’s definitely not all inclusive as there are so many great spots around town… I’ve been to a lot, but definitely not all. Especially with COVID-19 right now, I know a lot of people aren’t popping into coffee shops as much right now (us included… I can’t tell you the last time I went actually), but this is a question I frequently get asked whenever people I know are coming to town. Because of that, and my genuine love for coffee, I felt as though roundup on the blog was in order, so here ya go!
Frothy Monkey
I honestly don’t think someone could list coffee shops in the Nashville area and not include Frothy Monkey. It’s so good and they have multiple locations which is always a bonus. My personal favorite is the 12 South location. Although known mostly for being a coffee shop, they also serve amazing treats and actual food dishes so if you need more than a morning cup of joe or an afternoon pick me up, don’t hesitate to order some grub… equally as delicious as their coffee! How I don’t have a picture of Frothy, I’m still not sure. It’s probably my favorite. Will update with one next time I swing by!
The Perch
Luke and I are not strangers to this establishment. I have it listed as one of my favorite brunch spots in town as well because, gosh, their crepes are beyond delicious. Sweet, savory, or build-your-own, you really can’t go wrong. For coffee, they have one of my favorite lattes around, Best Chocolate Bar Ever. If you like anything in the chocolate or mocha category, trust me and try this one (available hot or iced). Before Covid, Luke and I went to The Perch frequently. There are three locations in Nashville, but I’m partial to the Brentwood spot on Franklin Road because it’s about five minutes from my house. They’re all adorable and deliver on deliciousness… worth a stop if you’re in town!
Barista Parlor
There is so much to love about Barista Parlor. The Lavender Honey Latte is what coffee dreams are made of. This is another establishment that has multiple locations. East Nashville is the original, Golden Sound (The Gulch area) is my favorite, and I haven’t been to the Germantown spot. Barista Parlor is trendy and hip while still being somewhat minimalistic. They know what they’re doing when it comes to coffee, so don’t hesitate to order anything from their menu. With locations in all of the cool and touristy areas, you’re bound to find yourself near one them while you’re in town.
The Well
Not only does The Well serve an array of coffee creations, they give back on a local and global level. Don’t you love companies that have an incredible product and are also doing some serious good in the world? I sure do and love supporting those type of brands and establishments. The Well is a nonprofit coffee shop that helps people all over the world have access to clean drinking water… they have over 23 wells set up in numerous African communities. How cool? This is another shop that has a few different locations throughout the city. One of them happens to be about five minutes from our house and also right by our Orange Theory Gym. I’d be lying if I said we didn’t pop in after a morning workout 🙂
Caviar and Bananas
So Caviar and Bananas is not strictly a coffee shop… they have a grab-and-go section, as well as a dine-in upscale type of deli (sandwiches, salads, etc.). However, there is a dedicated coffee bar area and there’s no way I’m alone in singing the praises of their iced lattes. A couple of summers ago, I remember my friend, Taylor, and I meeting multiple times in the same week at Caviar and Bananas strictly because we wanted the iced lattes. I’m much more of a hot coffee type of girl (probably in the minority there) but, if I’m going to drink my coffee iced, I prefer it to come from here.
Killebrew Coffee
Alright, just being honest here… this little coffee nook is just plain pretty. You can grab a cup of coffee and a pastry that are good, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. This one is for the atmosphere. Killebrew is located in the bottom of the Thompson hotel and, although this spot is tiny, it’s quaint and just aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. It’s a fun spot to meet a girlfriend to catch up or pop in if you’re visiting from out of town and in The Gulch area.
Honorable Mentions:
- Crema
- 8th and Roast
- Honest Coffee Roasters
If you are local, I’d love to know if any of your favorite coffee shops made my list. If you’re a visitor, let me know if you try any of these spots while you’re in town and what you think. xoxo.
