Comin’ at ya just in the nick of time before the month’s end with my favorite five things from February. Racking my brain back to when things were still “normal” and before everything really started getting nuts.
1. “Snow Day”
We didn’t get much snow this year (we sure got a lot of rain though), so our “snow day” was a little more mild than I would have liked. However, it was so fun though to watch Bodie walk around in the yard… even though he was slightly confused haha.
2. Valentine’s Day
We kept Valentine’s Day pretty low-key this year. We stayed home and didn’t spend much on gifts, and that was just fine by me. I probably went a little overboard for a toddler, but I had so much fun putting together Bodie’s Valentine’s Day goodies. I’ll link the items below, as some could also be great for your little’s Easter Basket. I got us Luke a small air-fryer for our homemade french fries, Bodie and Harper gave me some chocolate and cards, and Luke presented me with my lovely little, pink Corkcicle mug to keep my morning coffee hot.
*BTW, right now, Corkcicle is allowing you to help small businesses in your area when you purchase from Corkcicle.com. When you purchase a product, you can select a local retail shop that sells the brand and, upon checkout, Corkcicle will send them a check for the profits. I love this idea and think it’s a great way to help out during these unprecedented times that are greatly affecting small and local businesses.

3. Zoo Play Date
We have a membership to the Nashville Zoo and it is one of our favorite places to go for fresh air. On a random nice weather day in February, my friend Hannah and I were able to go out for the afternoon and walk around with the babies. Her little girl is just less than a year younger than Bodie and we always joke that they are going to grow up and get married. I mean, it’s honestly not a full on joke though because I don’t think any of us would hate that haha. They’re just too cute together!
4. Warehouse Collective Event
If you live in Nashville, you need to plan to attend one of these bi-yearly sales in the future. Warehouse Collective is basically a big designer sale of luxury overstock items (clothes, shoes, accessories) that are sold at a fraction of the retail price. Not only can you find some good steals, the event itself is always a lot of fun. Trendy event space, music, shopping… all the good things for a fun girl’s night out. This time, my friend Bonnie (the founder of Well Dressed Nashville… another amazing bi-yearly event) and I went together to the sale and then for Italian food after. It was a girly evening and so much fun!
5. Surprise Birthday Party for Luke
I actually have no photos of this event (other than the chocolate piñata below) which is a real bummer, but I pulled off a surprise (belated) birthday celebration for Luke on Feb. 1 in the back cabana room at Uncle Julios (one of our favorite restaurants) with 15 of our best friends. Luke’s 30th birthday was on December 22 but clearly, that’s not the best time to get people together and celebrate. I knew I wanted to surprise him with a little shindig at some point and, by the time February rolled around, he certainly wasn’t expecting it. It was so much fun to hang out with our friends all together, eat delicious food, and surprise/celebrate Luke.
VERY IMPORTANT **Bodie also had his first Chick-Fil-A kid’s meal in February. He had enjoyed bites of our CFA numerous times before, but this was the first time he had his own little meal just for him. Grilled nuggets, a fruit cup, and milk (and about two of mama’s waffle fries because, obviously!). If you know me, you know this was a very exciting time. He loved it and I heard the Hallelujah chorus go off in the background as he thoroughly enjoyed those bites and I realized I could now blame more CFA runs on the fact that, “Bodie wanted a kid’s meal”… 😏
xoxo.
