“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” ~Psalm 95:1-3
With Thanksgiving being late this year, it seems as if the Christmas hustle and bustle is already in full swing (more so than other years). I truly think Thanksgiving deserves its’ own moment, and shouldn’t be overshadowed with the things ahead. It’s such a sweet holiday. I could make a very lengthy list of all the things I am thankful for, but the one that overwhelms me the most is family. I’ve always been very close with my parents and Luke’s family, but my gratitude for family and the importance of those relationships has only grown since having my own child. Seeing the people you care about most love on your baby is one of the greatest joys of being a parent. Second only to having a child of your own to love and raise… which is just the greatest blessing and a love I never knew existed. I praise the Lord daily for the magnificent gift of parents, children, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and close friends.
As I am feeling so very thankful for my family, I thought it would be a good day to share some of our family photos that we took back in October. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out. All images are by Jennifer Blair Photography.
Whether you have your own kids or not, have parents around or not, have siblings or not, have loved ones close by or far away or not at all, we all have the same heavenly father that loves us unconditionally. No matter what your earthly familial situation is, let us all remember to set our eyes on Christ and His great love for us. No earthly situation, no matter how great or poor it is or may seem, will ever compare to the overwhelming love and blessings the Lord wants to cover us with if we will open our hearts to him.
“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” ~Psalm 34:8
Happy (almost) Thanksgiving, friends. xoxo.
