When it comes to dressing for Thanksgiving, I feel like there’s always a big debate between being dressy or casual. I have done both (and even a few in just sweats… no judgement, please), but tend to be a little more on team casual. A lot of that is because, growing up, we usually celebrated Thanksgiving at home just the three of us (my parents and I). Sure, I would brush my hair and try to look a little nicer for our meal, but I was not about to put on a dress to sit down and eat at home and then watch football all afternoon. On the contrary, I can totally see why people who are at big family gatherings on the day of Thanksgiving dress up more. Since marrying Luke, I’ve definitely spent some Thanksgivings with a bigger crew. Even then, I still like to keep things more on the dressed down side… fixed, but not overdone.
Today, I’m sharing this super easy Thanksgiving look that would be perfect no matter what your gathering situation is. It’s kind of right in the middle of dressy and casual. It’s also comfortable and easily hides how much food you eat, so bonus points for that.
The real heroes of this outfit, the poncho and hat, are both under $25. They’re super versatile pieces that you can use to create a variety of looks. My boots are a little older but I’m going to link two extremely similar pairs that are under $40 (the tan keeps going out of stock but is available now in all the other colors) and under $100. I’m wearing my Spanx faux leather leggings that I’ve had for a couple of years, but you could definitely just wear plain ones (however, I will say, these leggings are worth the splurge and will last you multiple seasons). I’ll link a similar option for those as well.
I hope this outfit gives you a little inspiration for putting together an easy Thanksgiving look. Chances are, you already have similar pieces in your closet that could be used to recreate this look.
Are you team casual or dressy (or somewhere in between) for Thanksgiving? Happy Friday. xoxo.
