1. Easter
I’ve always loved this holiday and there are a few reasons for that. First and foremost because of what this holiday symbolizes. The beautiful truth of Easter is that Jesus died and rose again to bring salvation to all who will willingly accept it. I recently went to Lauren Daigle’s concert at the Ryman and was blown away. Her voice, her lyrics… it’s all so powerful. As good as she sounds on the radio, she’s even better live. Her song, How Can It Be, is a wonderful reminder of what Jesus has done for us all and I feel like it is such an appropriate song especially during the Easter season.
On a more casual note, it’s another “first” holiday for Bodie and I love that. My mom and I have already been working on his Easter basket. I also love all the pastels, candy, egg hunts, and bunny things that come along with this weekend every year. So fun!
2. Spring Outfits
I love dressing for spring (when the weather finally catches up ha). Light and airy all the way. Sandals, tanks, kimonos, white denim… It’s the perfect time of year to maximize on transitional pieces and incorporate a fresh look as well. We all know that Target has been killing it in the clothing department, but I have recently discovered that Walmart is making a serious move and has some adorable pieces for spring. The price point will blow your mind. Here are a few things I’m eyeing and/or ordered this past weekend:
3. Warm Weather
I’m essentially writing this to speak it into existence. Cold, warm, warm, cold, cold, chilly, warm, chilly, etc. That is basically how the weeks in Nashville have been going. I am truly hoping that April will bring the warm *not hot* temperatures in once and for all. Not ready for all the pollen, but bring on the blooms, abundant sunshine, and evening patio hangs!
4. The Final Four
WAR EAGLE! I mean WOW. Watching this basketball team has been so fun. And is Bruce Pearl not the most likeable guy ever? I have been super into the tournament this year (even Auburn aside), but the fact that my Alma Mater is doing so well has made the past few weeks of March Madness a total blast and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The games have been so close and entertaining. I can’t wait to watch Auburn this upcoming weekend in the Final Four. Luke and I are actually talking about potentially booking a last minute trip to Minneapolis (if they make it to the big game). We’re crazy, but National Championship games just suck us in. Fingers crossed that Auburn makes it through. EEEK. So thrilled for this team either way though. Heading to the Final Four for the first time in school history is quite an accomplishment. Additionally, my bracket is currenlty in the 99.3rd percentile of all ESPN brackets, so that’s fun too.
5. The Master’s
I love this weekend every single year. To me, it always feels like the real kickoff to spring. I grew up watching golf (and all sports really) with my dad. Although I feel like it’s the perfect background for a Sunday afternoon nap, this tournament usually holds my attention the whole way through. I’m dying to go one day. The lushness of Augusta National is so inviting on tv. Also, in true Master’s fashion, I like to make a good egg salad to snack on during the weekend. I hate mayo though, so I typically make an avocado egg salad. This recipe is what I mostly follow. Super easy and you can add just about any other ingredients you’d like.
Hope y’all had a great weekend. Happy April. xoxo.
