Happy New Year, friends! I hope your 2019 is off to a great start. I took some time away from the blog the past few weeks to spend time with Luke and little Bodie over the holidays, which was wonderful. Baby’s first holiday season is just so sweet and obviously only happens once, so I really wanted to soak in every moment.
I don’t know about y’all, but January and February are not exactly my favorite months of the year… They’re cold, dark, lacking holiday goodness, and contain a whole lot of impatient anticipation for spring weather and activities. So, this weird thing happens every January: I get super ready for spring way too early (we have a solid 2–3 months before it arrives…) haha. This year, Luke and I are planning a possible Caribbean trip for my 30th birthday in the spring, and I’m craving warm temps and tropical hues already. Because of this, I’m finding myself drawn more and more to brighter fashion pieces, and I am incorporating a little more “punch” in my wardrobe hoping to brighten things up during an otherwise drab time of year. Those of you who know me well know that I’ve never met a shade of pink I didn’t like. It’s been my favorite color for 29 years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Although blush pink is my go-to, my love for hot pink and fuchsia runs deep as well.
So, all that leads me to talk about how much I love this fuzzy, fuchsia sweater. It doesn’t shed, looks amazing with black or denim, is warm and cheerful, and can be worn tucked, untucked, or knitted up. This sweater is giving me life right now during the dreary month of January (although we had a few warm and sunny days over the weekend and though delightful, it’s not the norm). It’s also going to be great as we transition into the spring season… I’m already planning on pairing it with denim shorts for a cooler night out in a couple of months. And, how fun would it be on Valentine’s day?
This pink dream of a sweater is from Ellie Clothing, which holds a special place in my heart since I worked there in college. It’s the cutest boutique and has two locations: Auburn and Tuscaloosa (I try to avoid playing favorites, but the original location is obviously the best… War Eagle 😜). If you can’t shop in-store, you can order from their online boutique (here) or through Instagram (here). They have so many cute things right now, especially sweaters (totally dying over this and this)! Snatch up my pink sweater for yourself, or anything else that catches your eye, for 15% off by using code “KARIS15“
I’m so excited for some of the fun content I’ll be sharing over the next couple of months – keep an eye out! See you back here later this week. xoxo.
