Happy November! This is always such a fun time and season. I love all the cozy things, time with family, and festivities that are in full swing when November rolls around… there’s so much to look forward to. Here’s my list of 5 things I’m excited for in November! PS: So obsessed with the metallic, platform loafers I’m wearing in the picture above. I have been wearing them non-stop lately… a fabulous 28 dollar purchase if I do say so myself.
1. A Trip to Dothan
This will be our first road trip with Bodie and while that’s a little nerve wrecking, it’s also super exciting! Luke is taking his last bit of parental leave over the next ten days. Praise! While he has a little bit of extra time, we’re heading down to my parents house for several days next week/weekend to celebrate my dads birthday and visit. My dad is also going to dedicate Bodie at church next Sunday, which is incredibly special to us. Y’all know how close I am with my parents and that I always love going back to stay and hang out with them… add Bodie into the mix now and it’s just that much more exciting (and more painful that we live 6 hours away).
2. Thanksgiving
I love this holiday. I love reflecting on my blessings and taking a day to truly focus on how immeasurably blessed I am (although I’m trying to make that a more conscious effort and meaningful part of my day-to-day). This year, I’m especially thankful as the Lord has given us the sweetest new addition to our family. I love gathering with family, cooking food, watching football, playing games, sitting by the fire, shopping online sales, and just hanging out. As you can imagine, with it being Bodie’s first major Holiday, I got him the cutest little outfits for the occasion. Photos y’all, all the photos.
3.Holiday Sales and Shopping
Luke loves to hunt, I love to shop. These are things I don’t see changing (although I have shifted my focus some on what I mostly shop for now that baby has come along ha). Especially starting right after thanksgiving, the holiday hustle and bustle gets into full swing (literally full swing if you decide to venture out on Black Friday, am I right?), and the sales really ramp up. I love buying gifts for people, so naturally Christmas shopping is one of my favorite things to do. I’m planning to do a few gift guides this season… any in particular you’d like to see? For your guy, for baby, for the cozy, homebody? Let me know 😉
4. Putting Up Christmas Decor
I look forward to holiday decorating all year. Everything is so sparkly, cheery, and cozy… and don’t we all need more of that when it’s pitch black at 5 pm? Yes. Side note— I’m so dreading the time change this weekend. It’s depressing… bleh. We usually put up all our decor a couple of days after thanksgiving (not because I want to wait that long, but Luke is all about Thanksgiving finishing it’s moment first), but this year I may start a little bit earlier because of baby… I feel like it’s going to take me a little bit longer to get everything set up and “fluffed.” We have 2 story ceilings in our den, so I love picking out a big, tall tree. Because of my mom’s allergies, we never had a real tree when I was growing up. It’s been something I’ve really enjoyed since being married to Luke. That fresh fir smell is intoxicating to me 😜.
5. Bachelorette Weekend for a Sweet Friend
One of my best friends from college is getting married in December. The event is sure to be a beautiful wedding and fabulous party. Her bachelorette weekend is coming up in a few weeks and it’s here in Nashville. This works out perfect for me as a new mama because I’ll be able to participate in almost all the activities and still run home and check on Luke and Bodie. As sweet as it is staying home and taking care of my little boy all the time, I’m excited for a few days of girl time out and about in the city… and to celebrate a true gem of a friend.
What are you excited for this month? It’s just such a fun time, my list could go on and on. BTW, I saw a sign today that said Santa comes in 52 days… it’s coming quick people! xoxo.
