Facial Spray / Lip Balm / Deodorant Wipes / CC Cream / Coconut Oil Packs / Jade Roller
Today, I am sharing about some of my favorite beauty products. These items are especially great during summer. I have several beauty products that I use year-round, while there are others I keep on rotation depending on the season. Right now, I’m loving these items (all in addition to my BEAUTYCOUNTER skincare regimen)—they’re my summer beauty staples.
1. Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray
This spray is the ultimate refresher. It’s hydrating for parched skin and has a cooling effect when it hits your face. I almost always have this spray on hand (it comes in travel sizes), but my favorite times to use it during the summer are: by the pool, after a flight (I always feel like my skin is gross and need a pick-me-up), after a workout, and when I first wake up in the morning. I’m a firm believer in this stuff. Highly recommend!
2. Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
I have loved this lip balm for a couple years now and keep it in my purse constantly. That hasn’t always been the case, though. For the longest time, I didn’t want to purchase one because paying $30 for a “glorified chapstick” is crazy. But on a weekend trip to visit a girlfriend in Atlanta, I talked myself into splurging for a tube because she consistently repurchased and hated to be without it. I bit the bullet, bought one at Sephora that weekend, and have never looked back (haha #dramatic, I know). But really, it’s so moisturizing on your lips and adds a subtle hint of color. I especially love it during the summer because it’s perfect to pair with that dewey, “no makeup, makeup” look. I always purchase it in “001: light pink,” but it is now so popular that they make it in a variety of colors, so you’re sure to find one that suits you.
3. Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes
If you’ve been keeping up with some of my pregnancy updates (here and here), you may recall that I swapped over to clean, safe beauty products, including natural deodorant. I’m happy about eliminating many of the toxins (like aluminum) that are typically found in regular deodorants. But, I sometimes feel like I need a refresher mid-day, especially if I have a long day ahead, since it doesn’t normally last me a full 12 hours. Cue the Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes, which are also natural and aluminum-free. These are great to freshen up mid-day and are so easy to throw in your purse or keep in the car. In the summer, when it’s constantly hot, these are great to have on hand. I probably use them the most when I’m leaving the gym but need to run errands or want to grab a bite to eat with friends after. A quick swipe, and then I can head out without “sweating” about whether my deodorant has worn off.
4. It Cosmetics Illumination CC Cream
In the summer, I gravitate to this product for when I run errands around town or when I know I’m going to be at the pool later in the day and don’t want to layer sunscreen on top of makeup. Being pregnant, I can only use mineral or physical-based sunscreens (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide)—this CC Cream fits that bill. Most tinted moisturizers or BB/CC creams pull their SPF from chemical-based sunscreens, which is a deal-breaker for me. I don’t use this product year-round; it’s fantastic in the summer when I want some coverage and need a higher SPF for being outdoors. The one downfall I see to this product (especially in the hot months) is, for a CC cream, this one is a little heavier and provides fuller coverage, so keep that in mind if you are considering it… It’s much thicker than a tinted moisturizer.
5. Trader Joe’s Coconut Oil Packets
I have been using these for the past two months or so as a face mask once or twice a week to keep my face feeling extra soft and boost my “glow.” I also love dabbing these on different dry patches, whether on my arms, legs, or anywhere else. I have dry skin normally, but pregnancy has exacerbated that issue. These individual packets are so compact, making them perfect to keep on hand wherever and also to travel with. If you’re not there already, get with the trend of using coconut oil for literally everything (okay, almost literally everything). Prime example: when I went on a weekend trip last month, I forgot my eye-makeup remover… a little dab of this oil, and the makeup was off. I also know a lot of people use coconut oil for a hair mask as well, so I”m thinking I may give that a shot, too. PS: One pack lasts me a couple days, so that’s a huge bonus!
6. Jade Roller
After hearing a lot of talk about jade rollers for quite some time, I decided earlier this year to see whether it was something special or just another overhyped beauty product. Personally, I love the thing (side note: Luke loves this thing too… sorry for outing ya there, boo-bear haha). It is so cooling on your face, and I notice a decrease in the puffiness around my eyes and cheeks when I use it first thing in the morning. I use it to roll in my BEAUTYCOUNTER Serum and also to roll across my face at night before putting on any products. It stays super cool, even at room temp, and is so soothing on the skin. This little tool is great year-round, but I especially love it in the summer due to extra swelling from the heat (and right now because of pregnancy).
I hope you had a great week, holiday, extra-long weekend, or whatever. I’m so thrown off by the 4th being on a Wednesday and am having a hard time keeping my days straight! As always, thank you for stopping by and reading! xoxo.
