I feel like I say this every month, but I cannot even believe how fast this year is going and that we are already in July… 2018 is now over halfway finished and it’s blowing my mind! With it being the beginning of another new month, I’m continuing my “5 Things” series and sharing my 5 things i’m excited for in July. Based on this list, it’s very obvious that summer is in full swing!
1. The Fourth of July
I always love this day each summer… any excuse to dress overly patriotic and celebrate America, right? I also love grilling out, eating watermelon, and hanging out by a body of water (whether that means the pool, beach, or lake). Luke has had a crazy amount of work lately so we haven’t totally nailed down our plans yet, but we will either be at the lake for the day with his family or hanging by our neighborhood pool and grilling dinner with a couple of friends. A couple of things you can be sure of though, Luke will most likely wear this crazy printed American soldier shirt (I can’t even describe it well because it’s so over the top) and an American flag bandana around his head and I’ll have on as much red, white, and blue I can get this little bumpin’ belly into.
2. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard and seen all about this sale over the past couple of years. It has a lot of hype that comes with it each year, but it really is great! Basically, it’s like a backwards sale in that fall and upcoming seasonal pieces are discounted ahead of time, which means it is a great opportunity to stock up on fresh looks for fall. I also like to buy gifts and put up for the holidays during this sale. I’m going to keep up with everything here on the blog from the best fashion, home, baby (can’t wait for that part this go around), and gifts. However, I do personally think some people tend to overdo their “coverage” though, so just know that I won’t break up regular programming here too much.
3. North Carolina Trip with My Parents
We’re branching away from our typical beach trip this year and heading to a cabin in the mountains. Although I am a beach lover at my very core (growing up in Florida and lower Alabama will do that to you), a trip to somewhere not quite as hot sounds delightful as I’ll be about 7.5 months pregnant during this family vacay. We’ll be pretty close to Asheville, NC so if you have any recommendations for that area, please send them my way!
4. Finishing the Nursery
My goal is to be finished with this space at the beginning of August. Hopefully that will happen. I mentioned in Thursday’s blog post, Second Trimester Recap, that our wallpaper was on the way and should be delivered by the weekend. Well, it came… and now it is going back. Sad day, but it was a classic example of something looking better online than it did in person. So I spent all of Saturday afternoon working on picking new wallpaper for the accent wall. Mehhhh. I still think we can have the nursery finished by the end of the month, I just hope no more “snags” to get in the way. But such is life, right?
5. Black Tie Wedding with Hubby
Thing One: I love any opportunity to get all fancy and dressed up. Thing Two: I love the way hubby looks in a snazzy suit or tux. Thing Three: Dancing with Luke at weddings is one of my most favorite “little things” in life. I’m thinking this outing should be a good time.
Thanks so much for stopping by and reading. Happy Monday! xoxo.
