Today I wanted to share one of my favorite “baking” recipes that my mom and I have always made together. These boiled, no bake cookies are so easy to fix and, in my opinion, are absolutely delicious! My mom has been making these for as long as I can remember (you’ll be able to tell how long when you see the picture of her recipe card haha) and to this day we still make them together. Chances are you have everything you need to make these cookies already in your pantry. There’s nothing healthy about these cookies, but they sure are a yummy treat!
Boiled (No Bake) Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa
- 3 cups of quick oats (uncooked)
- 1/2 cup of creamy/smooth peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Directions:
- Mix sugar, butter, milk, and cocoa in a medium sized non-stick pot and heat on medium.
- Bring just to a boil and boil for one minute.
- Remove from heat, add vanilla, peanut butter, and oats. Mix well.
- Drop tablespoon portions on wax paper and let set, 1 hour or until cool and firm.
- Enjoy!
* I photographed the natural creamy peanut butter in these pictures, but have only ever used the original when actually making the cookies. I realized this after I took the ingredient pictures (oops), but then went and grabbed the regular jar to make this batch. I’m sure the natural would work just fine (the only difference is the oil it’s made with), I just didn’t want to take my chances and stuck to what I know always works.
These are perfect to make when you need to whip up a quick dessert for game night or just want to curb your sweet tooth. Do you have any go-to, quick and easy sweet recipes that have stood the test of time?
