The space we use for a playroom in our home has constantly evolved. Technically, it should be the formal dining room but, with two little boys, we needed a dedicated area for play and toy storage much more than I needed a formal spot for beautiful tablescapes and displaying china… sigh. This room is at the front of the house and I’ve attempted to make it a cute and happy area while still having it tasteful and aesthetically pleasing. I’ve continued to add to and rearrange over the past couple of years and just recently have changed out artwork. I had a request last week to share our playroom decor so I rounded it up here in this collage for easy viewing.
Of course there are lots more toys than what is pictured and a few other furniture pieces, but this is a good idea of the theme and overall feel. It’s soft and sweet “little boy” while still being somewhat neutral. You can definitely tell it’s a playroom, but I am really pleased with how everything works together for being at the front of the house and one of the first areas that is seen after coming in the front door.
We’re working on redoing the paint right now and I’m reorganizing a bit but, after that is finished, I’ll share pictures of the actual space. I have the IKEA Hemnes console table with these Branas baskets. Sadly, the console table is no longer sold so I linked this one which is very similar. I loved the print on this Dogwood Hill wrapping paper so I decided to frame it and hung this art set on either side of it. The wrapping paper comes in 20×30 sheets so I just got this poster frame that matched the room and framed a piece. A great little home decor hack if I do say so myself haha.
And there you have it, our playroom decor. Do you have a dedicated play space for your kiddos? I have really enjoyed tailoring this space for the boys and love the memories that we’re making in here.
xoxo.
