[…] can see this post for more of what I have recently purchased for Baby […]
Hello and Happy Monday! After what feels like a whirlwind of the past two weeks, our home renovations are finally finishing up today and we will be able to get back settled in our updated space to enjoy our last few weeks as a family of three before baby boy arrives in 4 weeks or less. I can’t even believe I am typing that. Especially with how different life has been the past year, this pregnancy has gone so fast it seems. Today, I’m sharing a few recent purchases for baby boy. I’ve mentioned before that we already have a lot of the “essential” newborn baby items/gear since this is our second go-around, but I have ordered some other items and cutesy things for our newest little guy.
Farm Gown and Hat: I just couldn’t resist this. How darling? Honestly, gowns are just so practical for those newborn days.
VaVa Nightlight: I have heard nothing but amazing things about this little light and ordered it right away for those middle of the night feedings. I’ll keep this on my nightstand which will be right near the bassinet. I guess this one is technically more for “mama” haha.
Travel Bag: We love our Land’s End totes and Bodie has a set that we use for when he travels or goes to stay with grandparents. With so many size, color, and personalization options, you really can’t beat these totes. We went ahead and ordered a gray one for baby boy (didn’t have it personalized yet because we still aren’t 100% sure on a name). I ordered the gray, zip-top with regular handles. I’ll have it personalized in baby blue later.
Dino Teether/Toy: I just couldn’t resist this little toy (it’s also available in a rainbow version which is so cute). I’m going to put this in his Easter basket that Bodie will give him either for Easter or a little late depending on when he joins us. Check this post for more detail on that and ideas for your little ones.
Halo Swaddles: We tried several brands of swaddles with Bodie and ended up liking these the best, so I’m planning to use them again. I love the zip and velcro features and these valboa dot ones are so soft and perfect for keeping newborns cozy.
Personalized Stationery: I ordered these to send out thank you notes on. Lemon Grace makes the cutest personalized paper products. Bodie also has this truck set. I love anything personalized and these make for some really sweet snail mail.
Newborn Nest: This is a swaddle blanket and sheet for the hospital stay. The sheet also fits most basinets so it can be used after as well. This set also comes with a hat that you can have monogrammed. Since we won’t have a Fresh 48 session due to Covid, this will help me feel like we have some extra cutesy pictures of our little love while in the hospital. There are tons of print/pattern options for boys and girls, as well as neutrals.
Oh Boy Banner: This is very similar to the one I had for Bodie… it’s by the same brand. Even though we won’t be having visitors in the hospital, I still wanted a door sign. This is also available in a girl option and, for the price, you can’t beat it.
Elvie: I guess this is more of a “me” purchase, but it clearly benefits both of us. I used the Spectra S2 Breast Pump last time around and will still keep that one on hand, but I’m so excited to try the Elvie and have the option to be completely hands-free and move around throughout the house. I feel like this will give me so much more flexibility and I’ve heard wonderful things. It’s not cheap (I got mine at a discount through Aeroflow Brest Pumps with our insurance), but I think the sense of freedom that will come with it will be so worth it.
Swaddle Blankets: Another thing I have several of from the first time around with Bodie, but I loved these blue prints and figured I should grab a couple of new ones. This brand holds up so well.
MAM Pacis: I know babies are all different in their pacifier preference, but I really love these and am going to try these first.
Boppy Covers: Our Boppy will get lots of use from feeding support to propping up later on, and I wanted to have a few extra covers on hand so I could wash and change out immediately if there were spills, spit-up, etc. These are the same fabric as the Halo swaddles and incredibly soft.
Bow Sash: This will be for our newborn photos at home. I will have his initials put on the sash right after he’s born and I just already can’t wait for how sweet these photos will be. What’s more precious than a tiny babe wrapped up in a bow? I can’t think of anything.
Snuggle Me Organic: We already have a Dock-a-Tot and love it, but I know so many people who have a Snuggle Me Organic and love it equally as much. I ordered this one in the color “coast” so we’ll now have baby lounger for upstairs and downstairs. I’ll let you know my thoughts on which I prefer once I’ve tested this one out for a bit. People seem to be very one team or the other haha.
Angel Dear Jammies: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these are the best footie jammies out there. The material is buttery soft, the prints (for boys and girls) are so fun, and, one of my favorite features in baby clothing, they have the built-in fold-over mittens. I get most of my Angel Dear jammies from Altar’d State, but they’re also available in most baby boutiques or other online retailers.
My mom also got baby boy the sweetest Paty Inc. sets last week while I was down in town. One of my favorite stores to go in back home is Something Special… she has such a great selection of baby clothes and some of the sweetest brands. I had been dying for some Paty pieces and what we got was just darling. I’ll link what I can find here because several people carry the brand. If you’re local to Dothan though, definitely go purchase from Something Special… it’s the cutest shop!
My shopping for this little babe has definitely been very different than the first time around. Again, with having some of the bigger more essential gear already on hand from Bodie, a lot of these purchases have been more “cute” and “frivolous,” but purchases I’m still so excited about nonetheless.
xoxo.
