Toddler Boy Room Inspo

February 22, 2021 in Baby
toddler boy room

Since baby number two is another boy, we decided to just keep the nursery mostly the same and upgrade Bodie to his “big boy room.” I’ve generally known what I wanted, but made this toddler boy room inspo board for myself to wrap my head around everything put together and, I’m not going to lie, I love the way it’s coming together.

Bodie is obsessed with trucks, trains, and things that go in general so that’s the overall theme we’re rolling with. Shades of blue and gray mixed in with neutrals and natural wood tones will set the canvas, and I’ll add in pops of color with these truck art prints, these bins, and a few toys. I’m thinking this tick-mark wallpaper will be a great touch for adding some visual interest and texture without being “too much.” I’ve already starting to prepare Luke for hanging the wallpaper… it’s not his favorite thing to do, but it’s only for one wall. I was originally going to do a buffalo check or gingham rug, but saw this navy one and loved the way it played in with the other pieces.

I’ve been debating furniture for quite some time, but now we’ve only got 7 weeks until little brother is here and I can agonize over it no more so, as of today, I’m pulling the trigger on some things and they should start to arrive soon. This Hanover Crib by Delta Children has 6 different configurations and converts from crib to a full size bed… perfect to grow with a little one. We’re going to do it in gray, but it is also available in white and a darker wood and all colors are less than $150. I’m going to do the Hemnes dresser from Ikea and just change out the knobs. I’ve heard so many amazing things about the dresser and love the size. We have an Ikea furniture piece in the playroom and have been so impressed with the quality and style.

For bedding, I found these sheets on Amazon.. I can’t even believe that price and I’m going to use this Ikea duvet cover with this Brooklinen quilt folded at the foot of the bed. We may actually still start him in the regular crib stage (he still doesn’t try to climb out and the mischief he will get into when he can get in and out of his own bed is terrifying), but it won’t be too long until we will transition him into the toddler daybed style.

This mirror is a great price for the size (also available in black) and I think this lamp will tie in nicely. I’ll probably also add in this floor lamp. The triangular Pillowfort shelf in the picture is no longer available (I bought it back in January), but this and these are similar options. There will be plenty of truck and train toys to go around, but this light blue stacking one is darling. I’ll probably use it to decorate with on his dresser. My best friend has one for her little boy and, when I saw it on Facetime the other day, I about died and knew Bug would love it. I also want to add in one giant stuffed animal. Giraffe, Cheetah, or Dog… what’s your vote?

Have you decorated a toddler boy room before? Would love to hear what you did. Happy Monday, y’all. xoxo.
