If you’ve followed me for a bit, you know that I have been making a switch over to cleaner products for myself and my family over the past couple of years. While I would never claim to use only clean products, I do my best to incorporate as many as I can in our daily life. My skincare routine is almost exclusively Beautycounter sprinkled with a few other products from trusted clean brands. Just about everything I use on or for Bodie is a cleaner product… he has such sensitive skin and aside from the health aspect, I need to make sure the products are as natural as possible to hopefully avoid breakouts. Today, I’m sharing a few of my everyday clean product favorites with y’all. These are *mostly* newer finds and things I’ve been loving over the past few months since purchasing.
Honest Makeup Wipes: If you’ve read my skincare routine post, you know that on days I wear makeup, I double cleanse at night. I use Beautycounter’s cleansing balm before my cleanser. However, I snagged these wipes not too long ago when placing a Target drive-up order and I’ve enjoyed using them as a backup or when I’m feeling a bit more lazy haha. I’m planning on taking them with me to the lake and when I travel as an easier option for on-the-go. The smell is not my favorite, but I can get past that. For $7, this is a great pack of makeup removing wipes to add to your clean beauty regimen.
Honest Beauty Mascara: I feel like clean mascaras that actually amplify your eyelashes and deliver results are a bit hard to come by. This one by Honest is the only one I have found and really liked. It has primer on one end and the mascara is on the other. It doesn’t smudge throughout the day, but comes off easily when removing your makeup at night!
Smartly Lotion: This stuff is only $2 and comes in pump bottle, which is my favorite packaging for lotion that I keep on the counter. There is no fragrance and it is free of parabens and phthalates. I have found this to be a great lotion to mix with tanning drops as well.
Babyganics Shampoo and Body Wash: We have tried so many body washes and shampoos for Bodie over the past 20 months. If it has fragrance, it’s out. Too many chemicals, can’t/won’t do it. None of the typical baby washes worked for us (Dove, Aveeno, Johnson’s, etc.). This wash from Babyganics though is a true winner. The formula is gentle and it does not aggravate his eczema and super sensitive skin. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, fragrances, and dyes.
Cloud Island Diapers: I just tried these diapers last month for the first time and seriously wish I had purchased them sooner. As I mentioned before, Bodie has extremely sensitive skin so I try and use products for him that are as free from chemicals as possible (that includes diapers and wipes). Not only are these diapers free from chlorines, dyes, fragrances and latex, they also provide wonderful protection… e have not had any issues with leakage from these diapers and the fit is wonderful. You also get really good bang for your buck, which is always a perk! They do run a little big so keep that in mind if you give them a shot.
Toms Training Toothpaste: We’ve been using this toothpaste for Bodie now since he started brushing his teeth when he was around 11 months old. We’re still working on the whole spitting thing, so I love that this stuff is safe if swallowed haha. This natural formula is flouride free, SLS free, and does not contain any artificial dyes, sweeteners, flavors, or preservatives.
Beautycounter Skin Twin Foundation: Even though I am a Beautycounter consultant, I do not use all Beautycounter makeup. In fact, I could never get on board with the Tint Skin foundation… I tried several times and just didn’t like it. I didn’t use it personally, so I generally didn’t recommend it to anyone else either. The new Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation, on the other hand, is a different story. There are lots of shade options and the formula is just all around so much better. It’s buildable and lightweight, but lasts all day. I wear the shade, Light 210 (linen) for reference. If you’re in a foundation rut, give this one a try. You can always return with no questions asked if it doesn’t work out. Need help? Let me know!
Project Sunscreen Roll-On Mineral Sunscreen: I posted about this the other day on Instagram, but we have been loving this brand and their products. Mineral sunscreen is a much better choice than chemical sunscreens. Mineral sunscreens create a barrier on the surface layer of skin to deflect UV rays, while chemical sunscreens penetrate through the skin to absorb the UV rays (PS: that means they are absorbed by your body). This Project Sunscreen formula is easily applied and rubs in seamlessly. It’s super functional for applying to littles as well which eliminates mess and is a huge bonus!
Hope this was an informative post for you. Did you find any everyday clean products that may work for you? If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. xoxo.
