I’ve never done a Splurge vs. Save type of post before but, in the midst of my frivolous online browsing as of late, I have seen lots of items that are so similar to designer right now that it just kind of came about. Obviously, shopping is not a priority (now or ever) and definitely not necessary given the current circumstances of the world but, this was just a fun, little thing that came together and I decided I would go ahead and post. While we aren’t going out and about right now, hopefully by this summer we will be, and these pieces will be just lovely to sport around. Over here, we are spending a lot of time in the backyard (weather permitting), so sunnies, a swimsuit, and sandals are a must have. Lots of the “saves” are on sale right now making them an even better bargain. I personally own five out of the eight items below (with a sixth one on the way) and only one piece is from the splurge category. Hope you enjoy these finds!
Raffia Sandals: I ordered the save version with a birthday discount a couple of weeks ago and ended up getting them for $15. Right now, with code BIGDEAL, you can snag them for just under $30. I highly recommend them. They’re so comfortable and very fun for spring and summer wear. They run TTS.
Glitter sneakers: I do own the splurge version of these. I had been eyeing them for a while and purchased during the ShopBop sale in early March. I considered them a birthday gift to myself. Honestly, they’re so incredibly comfortable and pretty much go with anything. P448 is a similar brand to Golden Goose and while they’re definitely still an investment, they do not have as high of a price tag as GG (but just as comfortable… I’ve tried both). My exact P448s (the one’s pictured and linked here) are actually on a pretty good sale right now if you’re thinking of investing in a pair. However, If you want a similar look but for even less, the “save version” is very on trend and under $75.
Beaded Bag: I love Loeffler Randall and think their products are very high quality and beautiful. Handbags are typically pieces I will splurge on but, for a very season specific bag, I do not want to invest a whole lot into it. The save version is a great dupe for under $30!
Sunglasses: Let’s just say it how it is… I will not pay $400 for sunglasses. I own these dupes and they are almost identical to the Gucci ones. Oversized, fun, and only $12.99. #winning
Boho Maxi Dress: I will admit, I’m in love with the splurge version but I have nowhere to wear it right now so I just keep pushing it to the side. I think I love that it can really work from spring through fall, with or without a baby bump (PS: I am not pregnant so don’t read into that comment haha), and can be dressed up or down. The dupe version is very similar and comes in several colors. I just haven’t pulled the plug because I’m taller and think it may not have quite enough length for what I’m wanting.
Rockstud Jelly Sandals: No doubt that Valentino reigns supreme when it comes to Rockstud footwear, but it’s certainly not easy on the wallet. Even though I love the look, there’s no chance I’m going to spend a few hundred dollars on a jelly sandal. Fortunately we can all get that look for less. The dupe is so good and right now you can get them for under $20 with the code BIGDEAL. They’ll totally glam up your pool look and/or make you feel a little more put-together while chasing a toddler in the yard. You can see how I styled them for a pool day last summer here (Budget Friendly Swim Look).
Snakeskin Swimsuit: Both of these are chic and look very high end, but one has a much higher price point than the other. I’m about to order the less expensive version and can’t wait to wear it once it comes in (even if only in the backyard).
Outdoor Pillow: Okay, I had to throw in one home decor item because I just couldn’t pass this dupe up. I just snagged the “save” floral outdoor pillows to add to our patio furniture. I had been drooling over the Frontgate ones for quite some time, but no chance that Luke (or I actually) was going to be on board with that price. Honestly, I think it would be kind of ridiculous to spend hundreds of dollars on pillows that sit outside… no matter how lovely they are. These Target ones should do the trick and give a very similar look. Mine are supposed to arrive tomorrow so I’ll keep you posted.
Any good dupes you’ve spotted lately? Again, while totally frivolous, this post was so fun to put together. Happy Wednesday, friends. xoxo.
