If you raided my closet, there’s a chance you would say I had one too many pairs of shoes, a few too many pairs of ripped jeans, and about seven too many jumpsuits, overalls, and rompers. But I say, no such thing. In fact, my love for one-piece wear is one of the most consistent styles in my closet. Pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, and post pregnancy, it’s not uncommon to see me in some form of an “adult onesie” haha.
Aside from the comfort level, I really love the ease in styling that comes with one-piece dressing. Your outfit is one piece so it’s pretty low effort. It’s a grab and go type of deal. Keep a couple of basic, solid tees on hand to throw on under your overalls and you’re dressed in no time. It’s a totally put together look with minimal effort and, as a mom, I’m all about a minimal effort look.
The pink overalls I styled here are from PinkBlush. If you’ve read my blog or followed me on Instagram for any length of time, you’ve heard me speak of this brand numerous times before. (See some of my previous posts: here, here, and here). If you’re new to Good Day Gracie, allow me to introduce you to the fabulous online boutique that is PinkBlush. I first started wearing their clothing when I was pregnant… they have the most amazing selection of cute maternity wear (and that’s what they’re most known for). However, one of the things I love so much about this brand is that they have duplicate styles in most of their maternity pieces in regular sizes as well. This is a real win for the pregnant girl that envies the cute outfit that her non-preggo friend is wearing and vice versa. I should also note that PinkBlush has a plus and maternity plus collection. They really do have something for every body and I love that.
Let’s chat a few specifics about this specific overall style and why it would be an excellent addition to your summer wardrobe rotation. First off, the color is fantastic. Pink is my favorite color (even though I’ve been on a serious lavender/lilac kick lately), specifically anything in the blush shade. These overalls aren’t too light (they won’t wash anyone out), making them a great option for all skin-tones.. Next, this outfit is incredibly lightweight which is a must if you’re wearing any type of pant outfit in the hot, summer months. It also has adjustable tie straps which makes this piece work whether you’re short or tall. Finally, it can easily be dressed up or down. I styled it here a little more on the “dressed up” side, with platform wedges and an off the shoulder top; however, it would work just as well with a basic white v-neck tee and flat sandals for running errands or a casual cookout with friends. One thing to note: this piece does wrinkle, so make sure to keep it hanging up or give it a quick steam before you head out the door.
Here are a few other one-piece looks from PinkBlush that I love:
