Y’all probably know this already, but I love a good graphic tee. City tees, band tees, witty sayings, and everything in between—they’re all right up my alley. I especially love how versatile a good graphic tee can be. I wear them around the house with sweats, but I dress them up sometimes, too. Today, I’m styling a graphic tee two ways.
1. For Dinner and Date Night
A graphic top may not strike you as something you should wear to dinner, but it can be a great choice! By adding a few chic and girly accessories, you can pull off wearing a graphic tee on a date night out. I added a fun jacket, a clutch, nice jeans, and heels for this look to dress it up a bit. Although I wore mine here with bell bottom jeans (that Luke absolutely despises ), dark skinnies would also be a great option. When it gets warmer, this get-up works with denim shorts, too. And by keeping the heels on, you’ll feel sassy and ready for patio and rooftop weather!
2. For Travel and Errands
It almost goes without saying, but graphic tees are perfect for casual- and leisure-wear. Being at home with Bodie most of the time, I have my fair share of grungy/lounging days, and graphic tees (or any tees, for that matter) are great. But, like I said above, taking a graphic tee from giving off “I woke up like dis” vibes to “stylin’ and profilin’” doesn’t take much. I added a denim jacket and glitter sneakers here. Had Chicago not been brutally cold during our visit, I would have traveled in this last weekend. An outfit like this is also great for running a errands or meeting a girlfriend for lunch. I jump on any opportunity to be as comfy as I am on the couch and still look acceptable out in public. When it gets hot, throw on your flip flops (these are my favorites that I wear year in and out) and this outfit still works!
If graphic tees aren’t a staple of your wardrobe, but this is a trend you want to try, the tee I styled in this post (by Boden) is a solid place to start. It’s comfy and graphic, but isn’t as hardcore as an AC/DC tour shirt—think of it like a “gateway graphic.” The colors are also so great for spring and summer, and there are lots of options for accessory pairing.
So, graphic tees… Wear them everywhere? House only? Not at all? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Happy Weekend. xoxo.
