My husband can frequently be “spotted” in camouflage during the fall and winter months, but this year, I may be giving him a run for his money when it comes to “who wore it better.” Luke’s a total outdoorsman and loves hunting season–he wears camo for the functionality, of course (you know, to actually hide himself). But these days, camo is not just for hunters and soldiers… While camo print has been an off-and-on trend in the fashion world for decades, it’s had a real resurgence in the last year. Throughout 2018, the dark, boyish pattern has been a prominent feature for designers and retailers around the country. I love how ironic this fashion craze is–it’s all about standing out instead of blending in. And let me just say, I’m all about it!
I have a few pieces in my wardrobe that I acquired last year, and I’m looking forward to adding some more over the next couple of months. I currently have number three and number ten from the collage above in my online cart and am seriously considering number nine (I think I would wear them all the time). I’m dying over number five, but it would be quite the splurge right now, so I don’t see that happening anytime soon… I’ll still drool over it though.
In general, my favorite way to wear camo print separates is by pairing them with more feminine pieces for a contrast. The cross between rugged and polished is unexpected and really makes a statement. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite camo print pieces that are available right now. From athleisure, to skinnies, to accessories, this is a trend I’m expecting to keep building steam in the coming months, especially because darker colors seem trendiest during the colder months.
Here are some other camouflage pieces I’m loving right now:
What are your thoughts? Save it for the hunters and military, or are you totally on board with it for streetwear? xoxo.
