Hello, Baby Month! Can you guess what I’m most excited for in September? I’ll give you one shot haha. Seriously though, this is such a great month and we’re entering into one of everyone’s favorite #basic seasons, Fall!
1. Baby Boy Salyers
In January, when I found out I was pregnant, September seemed like a lifetime away. It actually came in a flash, and although I’m a little nervous (you know, those natural nerves being a first time mom), I’m thrilled that I’m less than 3 weeks away from meeting my little bundle of joy. Pregnancy has been such an amazing experience. It’s strengthened my walk with Christ, my relationship with my husband, and me as a person in general. I never knew I could love someone so much that I haven’t even met yet, but that’s exactly how I feel… an abundance of love for this little, baby boy that’s constantly flipping around in my belly. His nursery is finished, our hospital bags are packed, and the grandparents are on standby ready to go. It’s all just a waiting game now… but in the best way. Every night when I go to sleep, I can’t help but wonder if it will be the last time I lay my head down on my (pregnancy) pillow before he comes into the world!
2. College Football
I have loved football season for as long as I can remember. I started watching games as a little girl with my dad on Saturdays and have been hooked ever since. College football is one of the reasons I always say fall is the most wonderful time of the year. Luke and I both went to Auburn, so we are obviously huge Auburn fans. SEC games are always my favorite to watch, but the buzz, rivalries, and stress energy that comes with football season is just the best no matter who is playing. What else goes great with college football? Cozy sweaters, game day tailgates, and food. At the end of last week, I shared a favorite game day recipe that we love to snack on during football season. While we usually make it down to a few Auburn games each year, I don’t know that it’s going to happen this season because of Little Man… but we will see. If not, I’ll just have to live vicariously through my parents, who have season tickets. Bonus to watching at home, though: we have a new little buddy to watch with, and he has some of the cutest orange-and-navy tiger gear to wear on game day!
3. Starbucks Fall Drinks
So the beloved #PSL made it’s return last week. Are you a fan? I enjoy one here and there, but I’m not die-hard or anything. I really prefer some of the other seasonal drinks that they put out in the fall months. Have you ever tried the salted caramel mocha, or salted caramel anything for that matter? So good.
4. Hockey Pre-Season Games
While the Preds official season doesn’t kick off until October 4, preseason games start in September… so I’m counting this as part of my September excitement. Hockey is one of those sports that has a super long season (especially if you make into the playoffs), and I don’t hate it. Hockey games during the week and football games on the weekend… it’s a beautiful thing.
