If you’re anything like us, Amazon spoils the fool out of ya. It’s so easy, is it not? In Nashville we often even get things delivered quicker than the that beloved 2 day Prime shipping window since there’s a massive distribution center just outside of town and close by in Kentucky. It’s ruined me y’all, ruined me. I mean don’t get me wrong, I LOVE poking around in Homegoods, but my gosh the one right by my house is always INSANE (it’s the Brentwood location FYI… you fellow Nashvillians know how it is). Long lines, fantastic merchandise but it’s all over the store… it basically always looks like a Black Friday bomb went off in there unless you go between the hours of 9:30-11 am ha. Clicking is just so much more convenient and I can often find exactly what I’m looking for online. Aside from the ease of it all, Amazon usually offers great deals on products as well. The prices, the convenience… give me all the Amazon things.
I decided I’m going to do a few posts talking about what I typically like to buy from Amazon or have found on accident and been impressed with. My plan is to space them out into different categories (home, beauty, fashion, baby, etc.) and post them sporadically over the next few months. I personally tend to enjoy people’s Amazon discoveries, so here’s to hoping you feel the same. Today, I’m going to start by sharing some of my favorite Amazon buys for around the house.
1. Wool Dryer Balls: Super random, but I love these. I don’t know why, but I’ve never been much of a dryer sheet fan. These wool dryer balls help to soften our clothes and I do feel like they actually help them dry faster as well. They’re reusable and last a very long time. This set comes with 6 XL wool balls which is a great deal and they are something that we use frequently in our home.
2. Diamond Dazzle Stick: This the simplest way to keep your rings, earrings, and necklaces sparkling and shining. It’s so easy to use and compact for traveling. I use it about once a week on my wedding rings to keep them looking new and from getting gunky.
3. Velvet Curtain Panels: Velvet accents around the home are lush and I sure have a thing for them. I especially like mixing them in with some rustic touches for an eclectic southern feel. However, velvet anything is not usually easy on the wallet and you definitely want to make sure you’re getting a good quality product or it’s going to show wear and tear quickly. I had been eyeing some velvet panels from West Elm for the nursery when I saw @jaclynmari_ (find her page here… her home is to die for) had linked some that she purchased from Amazon. I scooped these puppies right up and am thoroughly impressed. They’re good quality, a good price, and just downright lovely. I purchased the blue/dark slate for Little Man’s nursery, but am also starting to consider some of the other colors for other rooms in the house now as well.
4. Gallery Leather Planner: I purchased this planner last fall to use for the rest of 2017 and all of 2018 and have really enjoyed it. I also use a weekly list-pad (here) to write out my to-dos, but this planner has been great for keeping up with trips, events, and even when I go to OTF (I like to be able to go back and track that easily haha). I love the sleekness of it, the color choices and, of course, the gold rimmed pages.
5. Down Feather Pillow Inserts: These inserts are at a better price point than buying ones from PB or West Elm and are definitely on par in terms of quality. Last year, I purchased several new pillow covers (this and this and these) for our bedroom and the den. I then found these inserts on Amazon and they were a perfect fit inside of my new covers. Highly recommend if you’ve been wanting to switch all your throw pillows out to down or have purchased some new covers that didn’t come with inserts.
6. Coffee Table Books: Not really sure why I’m talking about these last because they are actually my favorite home item to purchase from Amazon. I love stacking books on our coffee table, bar cart, nightstands, and in the built-ins by the fireplace. Sometimes you’ll find them stacked alone, sometimes they might have a candlestick, lamp, or gold urchin on top. No matter how you rearrange them, I think they’re very versatile— fun to flip through for guests, can give height when you need to elevate another decor piece (mom taught me this trick early on in life) and, since you can get a big hardcover book on just about anything, they can add a tasteful touch to your decor style whatever that may be. Amazon has an endless selection and always has better prices than the bookstores or gift shops that also sell them. I guess this makes sense though since Amazon did originally start out as a book service only. Hard to believe, isn’t it?
