Classic Black Jumpsuit: An Easy Date Night Look

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it 1000 times more, I am jumpsuit obsessed. Yes, they’re super comfortable to wear during pregnancy, but my obsession started long before now. I can remember wearing jumpsuits to sorority chapter meetings back in college and wearing them to my bridal showers 5 years ago. I wear them to church, work, dinner events, vacations… you name it. Since becoming pregnant, nothing has changed (except maybe the size a little). I have some printed and patterned ones that I love, but nothing beats a classic, solid color… particularly black. It’s like the sister to the LBD. If you don’t have one in your wardrobe, I definitely recommend purchasing a classic, black jumpsuit as it such a versatile piece and is a wonderful go-to for just about any occasion when you “can’t find anything to wear.”

I have a couple of black and navy ones in different cuts and styles that I consider some of my go-to pieces. Changing shoes and accessories can easily change up your entire look. Flat slides and a crossbody- a comfortable, casual #ootd. Heels and statement earrings- your ready for an evening event. Today, I styled this black jumpsuit for an easy, date night or dinner with friends look (which was perfect as Luke and I ended up on an impromptu date after I shot these pictures). I kept my accessories classic and simple—gold hoops, gold bangle, my everyday gold/diamond necklace, and my beloved Louis Vuitton Noe (file under: best vintage, NYC consignment boutique purchase ever). I dressed it up slightly with heeled mules and sassy shades. Messy top knot, bright lips, and it’s out the door. ASOS is one of my favorite go-to sites for trendy clothes without breaking the bank, and they are absolutely killing it right now on the jumpsuit front.
